SC Bar Seminar Will Examine Work Product Doctrine Developments

The South Carolina Bar Association is planning a CLE seminar titled Basic Principles and Dangerous New Trends: The Attorney-Client Privilege, Work Product Doctrine and Cutting Edge Ethics.

The program will take place on Friday, November 30 from 8:55 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at Embassy Suites, 200 Stonebridge Drive, Columbia, SC.

The featured speaker is Tom Spahn, author of The Attorney-Client Privilege and the Work Product Doctrine: A Practitioner's Guide. Mr. Spahn will spend much of the day addressing two areas of law that pervade every lawyer's practice - the attorney-client privilege and the work product doctrine. He will intersperse his discussion of these principles with hypotheticals drawn from case law or real-life situations. Participants also will discuss the sort of "do's" and "don'ts" that lawyers can begin using immediately to enhance a client's protections and avoid mistakes that can have disastrous consequences.
