The San Francisco Bar Association will host a lunchtime discussion titled Global Privacy: Do You Know the Rules of the Road? on Friday, June 5, from noon to 1 p.m. at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco.
Scheduled speakers Mark Weber, partner with Osborne Clark (UK), and Sajai Singh, partner with J. Sagar Associates (India), will discuss the basics of global privacy, the differences in laws among various countries and regions, the European Data Protection Directive, the APEC privacy framework, and considerations for American companies when they establish subsidiaries in Europe, have clients in Europe, or outsource to Asia or Eastern Europe.
