On Thursday, April 28, the Bar Association of San Francisco has planned a brown bag luncheon, Renewable Energy: Are we there yet? It will run from noon to 1:45 p.m. at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco.
Speakers Mike Levy, chief counsel of the California Energy Commission; Diane Fellman, director of Regulatory & Governmental Affairs, NRG West & Solar; and Jason Keyes, partner, Keyes & Fox, will cover the following topics to update attendees about renewable energy in California: the environmental constraints and challenges to siting renewable energy projects; conflicts between "big picture" government policy and the realities on the ground; whether the resource procurement practices of utilities help or hinder the achievement of the state's renewable resource goals; and what the regulatory agencies, such as the California Energy Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission, are doingto facilitate the achievement of the state's renewable resource goals.
