San Francisco Bar ExplainsArizona's New Immigration Law

The Bar Association of San Francisco has scheduled a lunchtime seminar to explain S.B. 1070: Arizona's New Immigration Law from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15.

It will be held at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco.

The speakers, Cecillia Wang, ACLU, Immigrant's Rights Project and Vik Amar, associate dean for academic affairs and professor of law, UC Davis, will cover the following topics: what S.B. 1070 allows local law enforcement to do; how Arizona residents are impacted; the legal challenges S.B. 1070 is facing; and states' rights and the growing frustration with congressional inaction on immigration.
