San Diego Brown Bag Lunch Addresses Greenhouse Gas Program

The San Diego ACC chapter has planned a brown bag lunch program titled Greenhouse Gases and Greenbacks - The Dysfunctional Relationship Between Emissions and Money for Thursday, December 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Morrison & Foerster, 12531 High Bluff Drive in San Diego.

Speaker William Sloan, of counsel with Morrison & Foerster, will discuss the proposed national cap and trade program that was considered by Congress earlier this year. The potential economic impact of climate change regulation is measured in trillions of dollars. From taxes to markets to prescriptive measures, regulators around the world are attempting to align economic interests with environmental interests to tackle climate change. The seminar will help prepare corporate counsel for climate change regulation at the state, regional, national, and international levels.

Mr. Sloan serves on his firm's Cleantech Steering Committee, and he represents domestic and international clients on matters involving natural resource and emission management, regulation and litigation, with a particular focus on climate change, energy, and water resources.
