Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Antitrust Practice with the addition of Sabrina Borocci as a partner in Milan.
"We are thrilled to welcome Sabrina to the White & Case antitrust team. Our clients are facing increasingly dynamic antitrust issues as antitrust conduct and merger review regimes increase globally, alongside a corresponding rise in enforcement activity," said White & Case partner Rebecca Farrington, co-head of the Global Antitrust Practice. "Europe is arguably at the forefront of this trend, and it is therefore essential that we continue to add top rate competition partners in the region. Sabrina is a highly respected antitrust partner, with experience working at the intersection between European competition law and litigation, and provides significant additional EU antitrust, litigation and regulation capabilities in Italy and across EMEA."
Sabrina's experience spans competition law, wider European law and regulation and litigation. She advises clients on cartel and abuse of dominance investigations and on merger control filings, including phase II proceedings before the European Commission, across a broad range of industries, especially those that are highly regulated such as tech and life science. She also advises clients on cross-border litigation before the EU and Italian courts on EU law and regulation, internal and external audits and investigations, and on compliance with competition rules in a wide range of commercial agreements. Sabrina brings more than 25 years of experience and joins White & Case from Hogan Lovells, where she was a partner and head of the Italian antitrust and European law practice. Alongside Sabrina, Francesca Moretti has joined White & Case as counsel. Francesca advises clients on a wide range of competition matters in Italy and those involving the European institutions. She brings more than 30 years of experience and joins White & Case from Hogan Lovells, where she was a senior consultant.
"Sabrina has an impressive track record advising on the most complex and cutting-edge antitrust and competition law issues, and strong client relationships that dovetail with our Italy practice," said Michael Immordino, White & Case Office Executive Partner in Milan. "Her addition, alongside counsel Francesca Moretti and new mergers and acquisitions partner Giovanni Cirelli, will add bench strength to our team in Italy and reinforce and diversify our client base, making us better positioned to advise clients on their most complex matters."
White & Case has also announced that Giovanni Cirelli is now a partner in the Firm's Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Giovanni advises on mergers and acquisitions across a number of sectors including real estate, financial institutions and infrastructure, transportation and logistics. He has particular expertise advising private equity firms and real estate funds on public and private mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. Giovanni joined White & Case from Shearman & Sterling, where he was counsel, alongside partner Domenico Fanuele.
White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "The ongoing growth of our Global Antitrust Practice with the addition of Sabrina continues and supports our recent investment in market leading individuals to build on the strengths of our transactional and disputes practices, including the addition in April of mergers and acquisitions partner Domenico Fanuele in Italy and antitrust partner Ingo Brinker in Germany. Sabrina's experience and client base also perfectly align with our industry group focus, particularly pharmaceuticals and healthcare, technology, consumer and retail, energy and financial institutions."
