Fried Frank announced today that Roger Schofield will be joining the firm on September 2, 2024 as a partner in the Corporate Real Estate Practice in London. He will join from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was a partner in the corporate real estate group.
Roger primarily advises his clients on corporate real estate joint ventures, capital solutions, acquisitions and dispositions, and other real estate-related M&A. He has counselled clients through complex transactions and restructurings in all sectors of the property market, and has advised global real estate investors, developers and owners on acquisitions and dispositions of real estate-holding structures, and real estate operators in the UK and Europe.
“Roger’s impressive background, commercial approach to transactions, and significant experience in the UK and European real estate markets will further strengthen our firmwide corporate real estate capabilities and offerings for our global clients,” said Fiona J. Kelly, partner and head of Fried Frank’s Corporate Real Estate Practice. “His experience in guiding clients through complex structured real estate transactions and capital solutions is a perfect complement to our dynamic team.”
Jonathan L. Mechanic, partner and chairman of Fried Frank’s Real Estate Department, added “Roger’s corporate real estate expertise, coupled with the strength of our existing London real estate practice, led by Patrick Williams, is the ideal combination. We are very excited to grow our London presence over the coming years under Patrick and Roger’s leadership.”
“Roger is an excellent addition to our team of top-notch corporate and transactional advisors for our real estate, institutional and private equity clients,” noted Ashar Qureshi, managing partner of Fried Frank’s London office and head of the firm’s EMEA Global Transactions Practice. “We are looking forward to welcoming him to our London office.”
Led by Fiona J. Kelly, Fried Frank’s global Corporate Real Estate Practice consists of a dedicated group of corporate lawyers with many years of experience in the real estate sector. The practice works closely with the Real Estate and Tax Practices, as well as with other practices within the firm, to offer a full range of services associated with complex corporate real estate transactions.
Roger’s arrival to Fried Frank follows those of restructuring partners Rachel C. Strickland, Daniel Forman and Andrew Mordkoff, who joined the firm in New York earlier this week. In addition, the firm has recently added private equity partners Christian Iwasko, Michelle Tong and Priya Rupal, along with finance partner Cameron Mitcham in London, as well as asset management partners Amy Johnson and Audra A. Cohen, and finance partner Monica K. Thurmond in New York.
Additionally, Fried Frank is expanding its London office space at 100 Bishopsgate in the City of London. This expansion will result in a total of 43,866 contiguous square feet, once completed.
