Pro Bono Partnership (the Partnership) announced the promotion of Christine Michelle Duffy to New Jersey Program Director. Christine has been with the Partnership for 11 years as Senior Staff Attorney in the New Jersey office.
In this new capacity, Christine will continue to provide direct legal services to nonprofits, recruit and support the work of volunteer lawyers from the region’s leading corporations and law firms, and develop educational materials for nonprofits and volunteers, and will now oversee the Partnership’s services in New Jersey.
“Christine is a tremendous resource for Pro Bono Partnership clients, volunteers, and staff, tirelessly providing counseling, advice, and training on employment and compliance matters. Christine is well-respected in the nonprofit community, and invested in its success. I’m excited to have Christine leading the New Jersey program,” said Nancy Eberhardt, Executive Director of the Partnership.
Prior to Pro Bono Partnership, Christine was the chief compliance officer and chief labor and employment counsel for a leading international environmental services company, and before that Christine was in private law practice for 12 years. Christine is an expert and prolific writer on a variety of matters, including nonprofit and employment law and ethics and compliance. Christine is editor-in-chief and contributing author of the groundbreaking Bloomberg BNA treatise Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Discrimination in the Workplace: A Practical Guide. In 2017, Christine became a life member of the American Law Institute and was recognized as a leading theorist in the area of employment discrimination law and a Diverse Attorney of the Year.
“I’m looking forward to leading the New Jersey program as Pro Bono Partnership enters its third decade of providing high-quality legal services to charitable nonprofits. With the assistance of our terrific volunteers and Partnership staff, including my Parsippany-based colleagues Program and Marketing Assistant Kate Marchese and Senior Staff Attorney Kent Hansen, we hope to assist more nonprofits in underserved communities and in the southern part of New Jersey,” said Christine.
