PLI To Launch Presentations Of Corporate Compliance Institute

The Practising Law Institute (PLI) this month has scheduled the first of several presentations of its Corporate Compliance and Ethics Institute 2007.

The conference will take place on Thursday and Friday, March 29 and 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the AMA Executive Conference Center, 1170 Peachtree Street, Atlanta.

At the institute, a faculty, drawn from major corporations, ethics organizations, law firms, academia, and the government, will give attendees the tools they need to develop and advance an effective compliance program, successfully promote the program and keep them and their companies abreast of all the latest developments in corporate compliance.

Discussion topics will include: recent developments in corporate compliance, including deferred prosecution agreements and the relationship between compliance and enforcement; how to conduct and design a compliance risk assessment to obtain the most valuable information; the evolving role of the board - where governance and compliance meet; how to perform an effective compliance audit; a compliance officer's perspective on communications and training, and an update on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

The program chairs are Paul B. Murphy and Richard L. Shackelford of the Atlanta office of King & Spalding LLP.
