PLI Schedules Compliance And Ethics Institute

PLI has scheduled a Corporate Compliance and Ethics Institute for Thursday and Friday, April 30 and May 1, at the PLI California Center, 685 Market Street, San Francisco.

It will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The state of corporate compliance is changing dramatically, and regulators in the U.S. and around the world are issuing more stringent rules while a weakening economy is creating a host of challenges for compliance programs. The institute faculty will discuss how you can ensure your company's compliance program satisfies the new standards along with practical tips and best practices on risk assessment, program structure and management, compliance and ethics training, auditing and monitoring, and reporting procedures. The format is interactive and will allow attendees to learn best practices from their peers.

Among the specific topics offered are Federal Enforcement and Compliance; A View from the Trenches: Effective Communications and Training; The Role of the Board; Cross-Border Governance, Compliance and Regulatory Trends; When Something (Allegedly) Goes Wrong: From Receipt of a Concern Through Investigation;and Measuring the Effectiveness of Your Compliance Program.

Among the faculty are David C. Farrell, vice president, Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer, Yahoo! Inc.; Richard S. Gruner, director, Center for Intellectual Property Law, professor of law, John Marshall Law School; and Christopher Mondini, senior manager, Forensic and Dispute Services, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP.
