PLI Schedules Antitrust Institute 2010

PLI has scheduled the Antitrust Institute 2010: Developments & Hot Topics for Thursday and Friday, May 20 and 21, at the PLI California Center, 685 Market Street in San Francisco.

Intended for in-house corporate counsel and attorneys in government and private practice with responsibility for antitrust matters, the seminar will teach attorneys how to manage recent changes in antitrust law and important antitrust developments that have occurred during this watershed year and what lies in the future.

Participants will learn what the latest Supreme Court decisions mean; when the Justice Department might bring price-fixing charges against an industry or trade group; how the Justice Department or FTC might treat mergers and acquisitions in the Obama years; the practical risks from consumer class actions and private treble damage suits from competitors; the antitrust risks in settling intellectual property and patent disputes; and what we can expect from the state attorneys general in this heightened era of antitrust scrutiny.

Among the faculty are Evangelina Almirantearena, senior counsel, Competition Compliance, Intel Corp.; Yasir Elbiali, senior counsel, Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA; Phillip H. Warren, chief, San Francisco Office, Antitrust Division, U.S. DOJ; and Norris E. Washington, FTC, Western Region.
