PLI Plans Advanced SeminarOn Securities Law

The Practising Law Institute (PLI) has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Advanced Securities Law Workshop 2007.

The program will take place on Thursday and Friday, August 16 and 17 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, 4000 Coronado Bay Road, Coronado, CA. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on day one and from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on day two.

The program chair is Kevin Harnisch, Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. Among the speakers are Eliot D. Rafkind, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP; Martin P. Dunn, deputy director, Division of Corporation Finance, SEC, and Michele Wein Layne, associate regional director, SEC.

Designed for the experienced corporate and securities lawyer, this program will consider the implications of SEC rulemaking, including the executive compensation disclosure rules, securities offering reform, corporate governance, director duties, Delaware corporate law developments, M&A and private equity, litigation and enforcement trends, and much more. The program will conclude with an ethics session that will examine the line between advisor and defendant.

Specific discussions will focus on: Rulemaking Developments; The SEC Executive Compensation Disclosure Rules; Corporate Governance and Board of Director Concerns; The Role of Privately Managed Money; NYSE/NASD Merger; Significant Litigation Developments; Current Enforcement Issues, and Ethics Issues Facing Securities Lawyers.
