Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Phillip Antablin as a shareholder in its Century City office in Los Angeles. Antablin previously served as Senior Counsel at Epstein Becker Green.
Antablin, who represents employers in unfair competition, noncompete, and trade secret matters, joins Littler’s preeminent Unfair Competition and Trade Secrets practice. Comprised of over 150 attorneys around the world, the team is lauded by Lex Machina for defending more trade secret cases from 2018-2022 than any other law firm. In addition, the team handled more than 1,000 new trade secret and noncompete matters each year in 2022 and 2023 and has led several high-profile cases – from large-scale employee raids to multi-million-dollar trial victories to a precedent-setting misappropriation of trade secrets win.
"As the regulatory landscape around trade secrets and unfair competition continues to evolve, Littler’s clients depend on seasoned advisors like Phillip to navigate these complex issues," said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. "We are really happy to welcome Phillip to our team and confident that his impressive litigation record and extensive experience will strengthen the group’s ability to successfully serve our clients in this critical area."
Antablin frequently handles both state and federal disputes and has extensive complex litigation experience, including in trial, arbitration, and before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
“The breadth and depth of Phillip’s experience perfectly complements our team’s holistic and forward-thinking approach to protecting and defending our clients’ proprietary assets,” said James Witz, co-chair of Littler’s Unfair Competition and Trade Secrets Practice Group. “As agreements that protect these assets face mounting scrutiny, Phillip will play a vital role in creating enforceable agreements tailored to clients’ particular needs, as well as litigating breaches of those agreements.”
Additionally, Antablin counsels employers on compensation plans, separation agreements, and on disputes with former employees involving restrictive covenants, corporate raiding, and misappropriation of trade secrets, across a wide range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, and technology, among others.
"Phillip knows how to safeguard a company’s most vital assets to maintain a competitive edge in today’s fast-paced market,” said Shannon Boyce, Littler’s Los Angeles office managing shareholder. “Coupled with his extensive knowledge of California’s stringent employment regulations, Phillip will be immensely beneficial to our clients – throughout the state and beyond."
“I’m excited to join Littler’s renowned team and look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to deliver the top-tier service the firm’s clients have come to expect,” added Antablin. “Joining a firm with such an exceptional reputation in all facets of labor and employment law represents a pivotal moment in my career, and I’m enthusiastic about the opportunities ahead.”
Antablin received his J.D. from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of California, Irvine.
