Faegre Drinker announced today that Peter Meyer has rejoined Faegre Drinker as a partner in the product liability and mass torts group in the Indianapolis office. Meyer rejoins from Exactech where he served as Associate General Counsel.
Meyer defends clients nationwide in high-stakes multidistrict litigation and mass torts, with a focus on medical product defense.
“Peter is highly experienced in the medical device space,” said Amy Fiterman, product liability and mass torts group leader. “His in-house experience has broadened his approach to the defense of mass torts and we’re excited to have him back at the firm.”
While serving as national and co-lead defense counsel in MDLs, Meyer has achieved successful results for the world’s leading medical device companies, spearheading efforts in every facet of litigation - from e-discovery to expert work, to dispositive motions and trial. To resolve mass torts at their conclusion and limit “tail” exposure, he negotiates and implements settlement programs, including obtaining Lone Pine orders that discourage further filings of unmeritorious cases. Meyer also develops and leads strategic settlement plans to stifle attempts to build mass torts, as well as to limit client expense and exposure.
“We are thrilled to welcome Peter back to Faegre Drinker,” said Indianapolis office leader Brian Garrison. “Our product liability team protects leading manufacturers in Indiana and Peter’s background is the perfect fit for this team.”
Meyer earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from University of Toledo and his J.D., magna cum laude, from The Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
