Pennsylvania Bar Institute Plans Seminar On Outsourcing

The Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Outsourcing in two locations.

The program will take place on Monday, November 12 at the CLE Conference Center, Wanamaker Building, Juniper Street, Philadelphia, and on Tuesday, November 13 at a Pittsburgh site to be announced. Each session will run from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

In a down economy, many companies are looking to outsourcing relationships as a way to expedite the implementation of new technologies and processes that are necessary to stay competitive while at the same time reducing overall costs. Attendees will learn what is hot in the outsourcing marketplace and how to navigate through a complex outsourcing contract.

The program will: take a high level look at the outsourcing marketplace (including such buzz words as offshore outsourcing and BPO); highlight key legal issues that should be addressed in the outsourcing contract, from initial transition and employee transfers to termination rights and planning a successful exit strategy, and offer some lessons learned and ways to avoid common pitfalls.

Speakers are Michael L. Pillion and Peter M. Watt-Morse, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
