PBI To Hold Environmental Law Forum In Harrisburg

The Pennsylvania Bar Institute is offering a two-day Environmental Law Forum in Harrisburg on Wednesday and Thursday, April 6 and 7. It will be located at the Harrisburg Hilton Towers, One North Second Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

The forum begins at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. both days.

Every year, there is a greater consciousness of environmental consequences and an urgency to take care of the earth. Businesses, governments, environmental groups and regulators all commit themselves to doing things differently with different infrastructures in different places in anticipation of environmental and energy developments over the next year, decade and generation.

These changes increase the demand for environmental legal services. New projects mean new permits, new regulatory requirements, new brownfields to address, and new environmentally sensitive areas to preserve.

Attorneys, consultants, engineers, professors and government officials will gather together under one roof to share their passion for preserving, conserving, creating, and for helping the "new" emerge. The forum will provide answers that environmental practitioners need - for the beginner, an introduction to new areas, and for the experienced, a series of refresher classes to revitalize a practice.

Among the speakers are Martha E. Blasberg, regional counsel, PA Department of Environmental Protection; Kevin G. Garber, Babst, Calland, Clements, and Zomir, PC; Alan S. Miller, Picadio Sneath Miller & Norton, P.C.; and Mike Sokolow, regional counsel, Southcentral Region, PA Department of Environmental Protection.
