PBI Seminar Examines Mortgage Crisis

The Pennsylvania Bar Institute is offering a seminar titled Distressed Commercial Mortgage Loan Workouts - What to Do When Things are Starting to Fall Apart.

The program will take place on Friday, September 3, at the Beaver County Bar Association located at 788 Turnpike Street in Beaver, Pennsylvania. It will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will adjourn at 1:30 p.m.

This year, commercial mortgage loan defaults are expected to reach unprecedented levels.Lenders are holding tightly to their funds and are unwilling to lend to business, and refinancing is increasingly difficult to achieve. In this course, participants will examine the current state of affairs and get practical insights into how to help clients through these difficult times. Practitioners will learn of the workout options clients may have and how they may be positioned to minimize the impact of these defaults on their businesses.

A panel of experts will offer some creative solutions in dealing with defaults.

The panelists are Wendi L. Kotzen of Ballard Spahr LLP; Gordon Daniels of Land Services USA, Inc.; Gregory G. Gosfield of Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg LLP; and Regina Stango Kelbon of Blank Rome, LLP.
