Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice with the addition of Patrick Sarch as a partner in London.
"We are delighted to welcome Patrick back to White & Case as we intensify our focus acting for major clients on their significant public M&A and public company work," said White & Case partner John Reiss, head of the Firm's Global M&A Practice. "Over the past five years, we have successfully cultivated a robust UK M&A practice, including public M&A and public company work, augmenting our partnership with key lateral partner hires and partner promotions. The addition of Patrick supports the reinforcement of our corporate practice, particularly in the realm of public takeovers and engagements for clients."
Patrick advises international and UK-listed companies, financial institutions and investors on corporate finance, cross-border and domestic public company M&A, with extensive experience in competitive and hostile situations, innovative structuring, the UK Takeover Code, disclosure issues, securities law and the UK Listing Rules, as well as secondary issues and capital restructuring. He also advises companies and activist shareholders on shareholder activism situations relating to ESG, strategic and M&A-related campaigns and disputes. Patrick brings almost 30 years of experience and re-joins White & Case from Hogan Lovells, where he was a partner and head of UK public company M&A. At White & Case he will resume a leadership role as head of UK public M&A in the London Corporate/M&A group.
"Patrick's ideas, market reputation, mentoring skills and energy will increase the strength of the London M&A platform that he himself helped to shape, and further drive forward our work with public companies," said White & Case partner Alan Burke, Regional Section Head EMEA M&A/Corporate. "His addition in London reaffirms our reputation for handling complex, international M&A involving listed entities."
White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "Patrick re-joining White & Case enhances our position in the London market and enriches the depth and strength of our offering to UK PLCs. While global economic challenges continue, we are of the view that the London market, as a global financial centre, will continue to be a hub for corporate activity so continuing to invest in our London M&A team makes sense for the Firm's global clients."
