OSBA Seminar Will Explore Commercial Landlord-Tenant Law

Commercial Landlord Tenant Law will be the focus of a CLE seminar planned by the Ohio State bar Association (OSBA).

The program will take place on Thursday, June 5 at the Forum Conference Center, East Ninth and St. Clair streets, Cleveland, and on Thursday, June 19 at the OSBA offices, 1700 Lake Shore Drive, Columbus. Sessions run from 1 to 4:15 p.m.

Discussions will cover Lease Terms: Landlord and Tenant Perspectives, Learning From Past Mistakes, Securing Tenant Obligations, Landlord Duties and Liabilities; Assignments and Subleases: Business Considerations, Statutory Matters, Construction and Operation of Assignments, Operation of Subleases, Bankruptcy Issues; Tenant Defaults and Landlord Remedies: Default by Tenant During Lease Term, Determination and Remedies, Hold Over by Tenant After Lease, Landlord Options and Remedies.

Speakers will include David Hales, Calfee Halter & Griswold; Lori A. Pittman, Ulmer & Berne LLP, and Victor M. Javitch, Javitch, Block & Rathbone.
