Onna launches knowledge integration platform

Onna launches its newest product — Onna Compliance. As privacy laws tighten their grip on enterprises across the world, compliance and security officers are tasked with finding sensitive data that lives in the furthest corners of their cloud applications. Built with their needs in mind, Onna Compliance helps users automatically and continuously search, classify, understand, and control sensitive data in a way that ensures compliance across their organizations.

Onna Compliance helps organizations gain control of their data with visibility into what sensitive information is circulated within collaboration and communication apps and keeping up with rising regulatory policies like GDPR and CCPA. Through centralized search, Machine Learning-driven classification, and smart triggers, Onna Compliance is the solution for mitigating risk and detecting threats in a world where enterprise information is increasingly fragmented and undiscoverable.

“Enterprise organizations face huge challenges with the visibility of their knowledge when it comes to privacy and staying compliant with regulatory policies like GDPR, CCPA and others. This has become even tougher during the pandemic as the visibility of where information is being stored is even less clear with everyone working outside of the corporate network,” said Eric Liou, VP of Product at Onna. “Our new Compliance product complements our existing eDiscovery tools and will help companies manage their information governance by proactively detecting Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and other sensitive information that would otherwise be almost completely hidden.”

Onna Compliance will be showcased at BoxWorks 2020 in a session on evolving privacy laws. Leah Perry, Global Head of Policy & Privacy at Box and Eric Liou, VP of Product at Onna, will demonstrate how to leverage Onna and Box to streamline Data Subject Access Requests, better known as DSARs, from modern cloud applications like Box, Slack, Zoom, and GSuite. As the imminent flood of DSARs reach companies across the U.S., compliance officers are strategizing how to track down PII and personal data across various cloud-based platforms — Onna Compliance will make this possible.

Onna announced its integration with Box earlier this year and since then has worked on strengthening the connection between their two systems. The company most recently enhanced its Box connector to bring over additional folder and file metadata that can be replicated in its system and added additional security features for Box admins in Onna.

Onna recently raised a $27 million Series B led by Atomico with second-round participation from integration partner, Slack. By integrating with a plethora of workplace applications, including Slack, G Suite, and Microsoft 365, Onna helps centralize and unlock proprietary knowledge stored in a company’s cloud and on-premise software. Use cases include governance, archiving, eDiscovery, and much more. Onna’s clients include Slack, Facebook, Electronic Arts, Fitbit, Carvana, Lyft, and Newscorp.
