Oklahoma Bar Presents Communications Skills Seminar

The Oklahoma Bar Association will help lawyers brush up on their communications skills at a day-long seminar titled Powerful Communication Skills: Winning Strategies for Lawyers on two dates and locations. On Wednesday, December 17, the program will be heldat the Oklahoma Bar Center in Oklahoma City, and on Thursday, December 18, the program will be held at the Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa.

Dr. Anita Jacobs, president ofThe National Center for Effective Speaking, will coach lawyers in effective means of communicating. She will cover the impact of non-verbals, such as establishing credibility, letting your competence show, and secrets of powerful communication. Under the topic of effective presentations she will cover ways to reach the jury or transactional opponent, communicating with difficult people, communication success, and powerful etiquette.

Anita Jacobs is an accomplished speaker who specializes in communications seminars with humor and substance.Her credentials include a Ph.D. in Educational leadership and Administration from Georgia State University, a C.A.S. in Human Resource Administration and Planning, an M.S. in Clinical Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Vermont, and a B.A. in communications from NYU. She is a Certified Speaking Professional - CSP - the highest rating bestowed by the National Speakers Association. In this seminar she will demonstrate that any lawyer can improve his or her presentation skills and ability to communicate with colleagues, staff, clients, and prospects.
