NYCLA Seminar Will Review Ethics Of Internal Investigations

The New York County Lawyers' Association (NYCLA) this month has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Ethical Issues Arising During Internal Investigations.

The program will take place on Wednesday, May 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the NYCLA Home of Law, 14 Vesey Street, New York City.

Some of the topics to be discussed include: internal investigations after Hewlett Packard; pretexting and other forms of dishonesty used during investigations; conflicts of interest: representing corporate employees and joint defense agreements;internal investigations: Who is the client?; duty to defend employees: KPMG and beyond, and document retention policies and obstruction of justice.

The program chair is Barry Tempkin, co-chair of the NYCLA Professional Ethics Committee.
