NYCLA Seminar Examines Electronic Bankruptcy Case Filing

NYCLA will hold a workshop on Wednesday, December 22, looking at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Electronic Case Filing System and is located at the NYCLA center at 14 Vesey Street in Manhattan. It begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.

The faculty will review the judiciary-developed Electronic Case Filing System (ECFS). The ECFS enables attorneys and litigants to submit pleadings and corresponding docket entries to the court via the Internet, thereby eliminating paper handling and processing time. The system also permits any interested party instantaneous access to the entire official case docket and documents on select civil and bankruptcy cases within certain jurisdictions. The training class is designed to enable attorneys to use ECFS effectively. The course includes instruction in all of the system's online, document-scanning and other software requirements. Additionally, it will cover new procedures for motions and online payments.
