NYCLA Programs To Focus On Improving Legal Research Skills Using Westlaw

The NY County Lawyers' Association has scheduled a series of courses on advanced research capabilities using Westlaw. Two programs will be held on Friday, August 7 and two on Friday, August 21. They will be presented by Lindsay Florek, West research specialist in the 3rd Floor Library, Home of Law, 14 Vesey St., NY City.

The first session Westlaw: Basic on Friday, August 7 will run from 10 to 11 a.m. and will deal with a variety of Westlaw search techniques.

The second hour-long session that day, commencing at 11:30 a.m., will be on bankruptcy research.

On Friday, August 21, the first session, Westlaw: Litigation Research, is scheduled for one hour beginning at 1:30 p.m. It will enable participants to become skilled at researching procedural issues.

The second session, Westlaw: Basic, will repeat the program presented on Friday, August 7. It will begin at 3 p.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.
