NYCBA Explores Private Investment Funds

How the current regulatory and business environments are affecting private investment funds is the topic of an upcoming New York City Bar CLE seminar. The Impact of the Current Environment on Private Investment Funds & Their Managers will be held on Tuesday, November 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York,located at 42 West 44th Street in New York.

Program chair Yukako Kawata of Davis Polk & Wardwell will begin this evening discussion and will be followed by speakers Michael A. Gerstenzang, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, and John R. O'Neil, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, discussing "Pay-to-Play": Implications for Investment Advisers and Placement Agents. Alexandra Poe of Reed Smith LLP will explore Custody Issues: How to Prevent the Next Giant Ponzi Scheme, and Edward D. Nelson of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP will present the Registration of Investment Advisers and Other Financial Reform Initiatives.

A panel discussion about the Impact of the Current Environment on Private Investment Funds and Their Managers will end the event.
