NYC Seminar To Review The Supreme Court

On Tuesday, August 3, the recent historic Supreme Court term will be reviewed by PLI at its New York Center at 810 Seventh Avenue in New York City.

The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m.

A distinguished faculty of constitutional scholars, civil rights experts, a law school dean, former U.S. Solicitor General, Supreme Court journalists and bestselling authors will analyze, discuss and debate the leading Supreme Court decisions of the October 2009 term.

Topics include campaign financing, confinement of sexually dangerous persons after prison sentence, and government searches of employee text messages.

It will also include an evaluation of Justice Sonia Sotomayor's first term by Erwin Chemerinsky, founding dean and professor of law, University of California, Irvine School of Law; there will be commentary on the court by author Joan Biskupic and by CNN analyst and staff writer for The New YorkerJeffrey Toobin.
