NYC Bar: Securities Arbitration & Mediation

On Wednesday, June 9, the New York City Bar Association will present Securities Arbitration and Mediation, a program geared to in-house counsel, arbitrators and mediators and focusing on developments in 2010.

The seminar will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at noon and will be followed by a networking luncheon until 1:00 p.m.; it will be located at the City Bar Center at 42 West 44th Street in New York City.

The recent events in the financial marketplace have brought substantial changes to securities arbitrations and mediations. A faculty of experienced practitioners, including Katherine M. Bayer, the regional director of FINRA Dispute Resolution, will examine rule changes, recent decisions and events. Attendees will get practical advice on prosecuting and defending securities arbitrations and will have the opportunity to interact with the panel of experts.

Some topics will include an update on FINRA and new rules;U-4 and U-5 issues including disclosure, and strategy in drafting pleadings and settlement agreements.

Among the speakers and panelists are Roger M. Dietz, chair of the Dispute Resolution Section, New York City Bar; Ross B. Intelisano of Rich & Intelisano, LLP; andTracey Salmon-Smith, associate general counsel, UBS Financial Services Inc.
