NYC Bar Looks At Regulatory Reform

On Wednesday, June 2, the NYC Bar Association presents a program, Legal & Ethical Challenges to Investment Counsel in Times of Comprehensive Regulatory Reform. The program will be at the bar association located at 42 West 44th Street in New York City.

The scheduled event is from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The agenda will begin with a litigation update examining recent litigation under Section 36(b) of the Investment Company Act of 1940 regarding advisory fees and will be presented by James N. Benedict of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP.

Other topics will look at the comprehensive regulatory reforms of the financial markets and the implications for the investment management industry. There will be a panel discussion of ethical issues confronting mutual fund boards and advisors in times of financial failure and market upheaval.

Among the panelists are Barry P. Barbash, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP; Patrick D. Sweeney, Herrick, Feinstein LLP; and Marguerite E. H. Morrison, managing director and associate general counsel of New York Life Investment Management LLC.
