North Carolina Program Focuses On Environmental Essentials

On Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7, the North Carolina Bar Association presents a seminar titled Environmental Essentials for the Next Decade. It will be held at the Marina Inn at the Grande Dunes, 8121 Amalfi Place in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Day one begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. with social activities to follow. Day two starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:45 p.m.

The program will provide lawyers and environmental professionals with updates on environmental and natural resource law for the next decade. Participants will learn of the cutting-edge developments in the Research Conservation and Recovery Act. Among the topics are an update to the federal and state case law; a complete primer on North Carolina and federal legislation; and tips on litigating environmental cases.

The faculty includes Hon. James L. Conner, II, Ragsdale Liggett PLLC; James P. "Ryke" Longest, Jr., Duke University School of Law; Daniel S. Hirschman, North Carolina Department of Justice Environmental Division; and Amos C. Dawson, III, Williams Mullen.
