New York Seminar Focuses On Mediation Advocacy

The New York City Bar Association offers a timely video replay of The Seven Deadly Sins of Mediation Advocacy. The seminar is on Thursday, August 25, at the New York City Bar Association, 42 West 44TH Street in New York City.

It begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at noon.

This mediation advocacy/negotiation program will cover topics well beyond "how to pick a mediator." The course will help the advocate understand what works and why in mediation as well as in direct negotiation.

The seminar will highlight best practices of mediation advocacy and certain essential negotiation techniques. Attendees will hear from Joan Sterns Johnsen, a visiting assistant clinical professor at Albany Law School and commercial arbitrator and mediator. She will guide participants through what actually happens "in the other room" during a mediation as well as why experienced negotiating does not always translate into better negotiating.
