New York City Seminar: Trends In Employment Discrimination

On Thursday, June 23, the Practising Law Institute will present a program looking at the latest issues in employment discrimination law and litigation.

It will run from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at PLI's New York Center located at 810 Seventh Avenue in New York City. Practitioners who advise or represent employers, employees, labor unions or government, or who have judicial/arbitral/mediator responsibilities need to keep abreast of changes in the employment discrimination arena and be aware of the cutting-edge developments in employment discrimination litigation. The program will bring together prominent practitioners from management and the plaintiff's bars, members of the judiciary and others to analyze the latest developments in the employment discrimination arena.

Willis J. Goldsmith of Jones Day will discuss whistleblower and retaliation claims and new amendments to Sarbanes-Oxley. The next panel includes Raymond McLeod, director of DOAR Litigation Consulting, who will discuss recent discrimination class actions, including Dukes v. Wal-Mart.

There will also be a presentation by Kathleen M. McKenna of Proskauer Rose LLP looking at emerging discrimination issues such as the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act. The final panelists include Hon. Denny Chin, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Gerald T. Hathaway of Littler Mendelson P.C., who will lead a discussion of publicity in the context of employment discrimination cases.
