NAWL® Schedules Its 2008 Annual Awards Luncheon And Two Seminars

The National Association of Women Lawyer(NAWL® ) will host its Annual Awards Luncheon on July 16, 2008 at noon at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. The Annual Luncheon celebrates NAWL's achievements and honors the recipients of the NAWL awards.

Honorees include: Dean Elena Kagan, Harvard Law School, who will deliver the keynote speech; DuPont Legal Department; Helaine M. Barnett, President of the Legal Services Corporation; the Honorable Deborah A. Batts, Southern District of New York, and Professor Suzanne B. Goldberg, Columbia Law School.

The honorees are distinguished individuals who demonstrate excellence in the profession, and DuPonts's law department. Each has paved the way for important practices to help attract, retain and advance women lawyers over the years.

In conjunction with the luncheon, the NAWL will conduct two educational programs on the same day. Ethical Issues in Inside/Outside Counsel Relationships will be held in the offices of Nixon Peabody LLP at 437 Madison Avenue, NYC, from 9 to 11:15 a.m.The speakers are John Lipsey, Vice President, Corporate Counsel Services, LexisNexis; Cathy Fleming, Nixon Peabody LLP; Katherine Tammaro, Tressler, Soderstrom, Maloney & Priess, LLP; and Paul Weissman, Vice President, Schering-Plough Corporation.

Flexing the Workplace: New Ways to Get Work Done, Build Careers and Maintain Productivity, is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. in the offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell at 450 Lexington Avenue, NYC. The moderator will be Lisa Belkin,"Life's Work" columnist of The New York Times and contributing writer to The New York Times Magazine .
