Minnesota ACC To Examine The Life Of A Lawsuit

The Minnesota Chapter of the ACC will present a program that examines the settlement and analysis phase of a lawsuit.

Titled The Life of a Lawsuit - Settlement and Analysis Phase, the seminar is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, beginning at 4 p.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. followed by a cocktail reception until 6:30 p.m. at the offices of Fredrikson & Byron, U.S. Bank Plaza, 200 South Sixth Street, Minneapolis.

Because 95 percent of cases settle before trial, settlement analysis and strategy are often the critical phase of any dispute. Attendees will hear from experienced trial lawyers who will explain settlement analysis and case evaluation from both a procedural and economic perspective. This will enablein-house counsel to effectively advise management on claims headed for trial. Topics that will be covered include mediation strategy; the effective use of arbitration; conducting a risk analysis - how to assess with executives the costs and benefits of settlement versus a trial; and interaction with outside counsel.

The presenters are Tom Fraser and Kurt Niederluecke of Fredrikson & Byron.
