Merrick Benn, a Partner at Womble Bond Dickinson, has joined the firm’s Global Board—the entity responsible for guiding, managing, and fostering cooperation between the firm’s UK and U.S. operations. He will serve a two-year term on the Global Board. Benn recently completed a full term as an elected member of Womble Bond Dickinson’s U.S. Firm Management Committee during which time he served as the firm’s Vice Chair over the past three years and has served as the firm’s Capital Markets Practice Group Leader the last six years.
Established as a result of the 2017 combination that led to Womble Bond Dickinson’s formation, the Global Board also includes U.S. Chair and CEO Betty Temple and U.S. Partners Mary Bourke, Randy Hanson, Chris Jones, Chris Mammen, and Dean Rutley. The board’s aim is to guarantee a consistent and integrated client experience throughout the global reach of the firm.
Benn’s practice includes the handling of all aspects of structured and equipment financing transactions including substantial experience in structuring, documenting and negotiation of transportation assets such as rolling stock, vessels and corporate and commercial aircraft, syndications, portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, leveraged financings, cross-border transactions, and inventory and receivables financings.
“I am honored to continue to serve Womble in a leadership capacity,” Benn said. “The Global Board is a particularly appealing opportunity because so many of our clients have international business interests and needs. I look forward to working with this outstanding group of Womble Partners from both sides of the Atlantic.”
