On Wednesday, September 16, the PLI will host the Corporate Counsel Institute 2009 on the latest issues confronting corporate counsel.It will commence at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5:30 p.m. at the PLI New York Center, 810 Seventh Avenue.
A stellar faculty of experts will include among many others Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky, former U.S. Trade Representative and current senior international partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP; Michael D. Fricklas, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, Viacom Inc; Charles W. Gerdts, general counsel, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; Andrew D. Hendry, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, Colgate-Palmolive Company; Thomas L. Sager, senior vice president and general counsel, DuPont; and Amy W. Schulman, senior vice president & general counsel, Pfizer Inc.
They will lead discussions on how the financial industry trumoil has affected general counsel and executive compensation; TARP; the future of law firms and law practice infrastructure - value billing; the international dynamic of anti-bribery laws and other conduct; how to deal with the Wall Street debt offering; IFRS - what a corporate counsel needs to know; and enterprise risk management - what, why and how?
