McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC announces the addition of accomplished litigator and skilled motor vehicle attorney Mark R. Calore to its Scranton office. He joins the Automotive Dealership Law and Litigation Practice Groups.
Calore’s practice at McNees focuses on counseling clients on automotive statutory and regulatory compliance. He works collaboratively with automotive dealerships and inspection stations, among others, and mounts a vigorous defense should they be subject to legal or administrative action in response to alleged violations. Over seven years, he has represented clients before state courts, administrative tribunals and appellate courts for matters including statutory appeals, licensing issues, administrative appeals and appellate litigation.
“My experience as assistant counsel for two Commonwealth agencies granted me significant insight into the workings of administrative agencies,” Calore said. “As an adept litigator, I will leverage this knowledge to accomplish my clients’ goals both inside and outside of the courtroom.”
Before joining McNees, Calore advised the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry’s State Workers’ Insurance Fund (SWIF) and assisted in litigation at the trial and appellate court levels. He also advised the Commonwealth’s Department of Transportation in issues related to driver’s licenses, inspection licenses and vehicle equipment standards; reviewed state and federal statutes affecting the agency’s ability to administer provisions of the Vehicle Code; and presented on cutting-edge matters related to autonomous vehicle technology. He additionally was the primary litigator for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ Inspection Division, personally handling statutory appeals in a 23-county region.
Calore served in the United States Army at Fort Riley in Kansas as a mechanized infantryman. There, he managed the operation and function of the Operations Room office of an infantry company, as well as personal information and training records for more than 140 personnel.
