MCLE Schedules 12th Annual IP Law Conference

MCLE has scheduled its Twelfth Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference 2009 for Wednesday, June 10 from 1 to 6 p.m.The location is Milstein Hall, Lower Level, 10 Winter Place, Boston.

An expert faculty will be assembled to review the important issues rapidly evolving in the field of intellectual property. Among the panelists will be keynoter William F. Patry; senior copyright counsel, Google, Inc.; Timothy M. Murphy, Bromberg & Sunstein LLP; Warren E. Agin; Swiggart & Agin LLC; David J. Cerveny, ConforMIS, Inc; Vickie L. Henry, Foley Hoag LLP; and Walter F. McDonough; Future of Music Coalition, Needham.

Besides reviewing basic copyright law, the panelists will examine recent case law and proposed legislation, both in the U.S. and in the international arena. In addition, the panelists will discuss collective and statutory licensing and its potential impact on the entertainment industry.

They will discuss the latest in patent damages and happenings in the ITC, as well as new or anticipated developments in patent law in 2009 and will explain the current state of the law on trademark dilution, as well as how trademark issues arising with metatags are currently being handled.

The conference also includes a special segment on licensing intellectual property in a distressed economy.
