Susan Barrett, a McGuireWoods corporate and private equity associate in Pittsburgh, will join Health Catalyst as corporate counsel on Nov. 1, 2021. In this role with Health Catalyst — a provider of data and analytics technology and services to healthcare organizations with the mission of improving the quality of patient care — she will be responsible for supporting mergers and acquisitions and corporate and commercial matters across the company’s various business groups.
Since joining McGuireWoods in 2018, Barrett has focused on corporate and private equity transactions, representing public and privately held companies, private equity funds and institutional investors across industries. The Pittsburgh Business Times recognized Barrett in 2019 on its “30 Under 30” list honoring rising stars in the region and she was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America’s “Ones to Watch” for Mergers & Acquisitions Law. In addition to her involvement in recruitment for McGuireWoods’ summer associate program, Barrett also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Duquesne University School of Law and a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“I am grateful for the opportunities I was provided at McGuireWoods to develop my legal skills surrounded by the most talented attorneys, and I appreciate the firm’s support and encouragement during my time as an associate,” Barrett said.
“Susan has been an invaluable member of our team for the past three years,” said Tom Zahn, chair of McGuireWoods’ Corporate & Private Equity Department. “We wish her great success in this new role with Health Catalyst.”
