Kevin Denny, a financial services litigation associate in McGuireWoods’ Charlotte office, will join LendingTree on Sept. 7, 2021, as corporate counsel. His new role includes counseling the company on consumer finance legal and regulatory risks and ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws. His last day at the firm was Aug. 20.
At McGuireWoods, Denny focused on financial and commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts. He also assisted companies with internal and government investigations and responding to information requests from government agencies.
“It has been an incredible learning experience to work with talented McGuireWoods attorneys for the past six years,” Denny said. “I am grateful for the firm’s support and encouragement during my time as an associate. I look forward to starting this next chapter in my legal career.”
Before joining McGuireWoods in 2015, Denny was a law clerk to Judge Catherine C. Eagles of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. While attending the University of North Carolina School of Law, he served as a judicial intern to Judge Linda Stephens of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
“Working with Kevin has been a pleasure, and he has made many valuable contributions to the practice and the firm,” said Atlanta partner Cheryl Haas, chair of McGuireWoods’ Financial Services Litigation Department. “We wish him luck in his new role.”
