Mass Bar Seminar Topic: Immigration Law

The Massachusetts Bar Association has scheduled an introductory level program titled Immigration Law Essentials.It will take place on Thursday, August 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Massachusetts Bar Association Conference Center, 20 West Street, Boston.

Because immigration touches various areas of law and affects many lives, attorneys should be aware of basic immigrant visa procedures and the alphabet soup of immigration status.Attendees will learn about: types of visas - permanent green cards, student and other temporary visas; employer compliance I-9 issues; impacts on criminal and family law; relief of deportation, and ethical issues facing foreign nationals and dual representation.

The presentations will be given by Joseph P. Curran and Dan H. Berger of Curran & Berger, Jeanette Kain, Kaplan, O'Sullivan & Friedman, and Gerald C. Rovner, Law office of Gerald C. Rovner.
