Maine SBA To Address Business Disputes

The Maine State Bar Association will sponsor a program titled Business Litigation/Business Reorganization: State and Federal Courts Address Maine Business Issues - 2008 on Thursday, September 11 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Among the expert presenters areSteven E. Cope, Cope & Cope, P.A.; Randy J. Creswell, Perkins Thompson; the Honorable James B. Haines Jr., U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Maine, and the Honorable John C. Nivison, District Court, Maine.

The program will benefit any lawyer involved in business disputes. It explores the advantages and disadvantages of the new business and consumer procedures available in state court and the long-standing procedures available in the federal bankruptcy process.The speakers will explain how the state and federal forums can complement and sometimes conflict with each other.
