Lunchtime Topic: Employee Benefits

The Bar Association of San Francisco is planning a brown-bag lunch event titled ERISA 101 - The Law Governing Employee Benefit Plans for Tuesday, July 22 from noon until 1:00 p.m., at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street, San Francisco. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.

The speaker, Benjamin F. Spater of Trucker Huss, APC, will address the structure of ERISA, including coverage and exemptions; reporting and disclosures, nondiscrimination, vesting, and funding requirements; fiduciary standards and the enforcement of plan participants' rights; and preemption of state law and the division of benefits in a divorce.
