Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today the arrival of partner Luke Iovine to the firm’s Corporate department. Iovine joins Seyfarth from Hogan Lovells where he was a partner in its mergers and acquisitions team. He is the third partner to join the firm’s New York corporate department this year.
With over three decades of experience advising public and private companies and institutional investors on a broad array of domestic and cross-border acquisitions, dispositions and other investments, Iovine provides a strategic boost to the firm’s transactional service offerings for its clients.
“Luke’s stature in New York’s financial market and his real estate prowess and expertise in Latin American cross-border transactions dovetails with our strategic vision to continue to expand our corporate practice,” stated John P. Napoli, co-managing partner of Seyfarth’s New York office and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “Several of our corporate partners have worked with Luke over the years. We have existing common client relationships and his joining our firm deepens and expands those relationships and our corporate bench.”
A seasoned transactions lawyer, Iovine counsels clients on mergers & acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, corporate governance and other complex transactional matters. He advises companies and investors in a broad range of industries, including telecommunications, real estate, and financial services, among others. Iovine’s practice extends beyond US domestic transactions and includes extensive experience advising clients concerning transactions in various Latin American countries.
“We are excited to have a lawyer of Luke’s caliber join our growing corporate department,” said Steven R. Meier, Seyfarth’s Corporate department chair. “His experience across multiple industries, including especially telecommunications and real estate, is synergistic with our existing capabilities. In addition, Luke’s experience in cross-border investment transactions will further strengthen our relationships with our multinational clients.”
Seyfarth’s New York office offers clients a full-service, multidisciplinary team of attorneys across virtually all areas of practice. The Corporate group works with an array of businesses from large well-known companies to aggressive start-ups and is highly regarded for its deep knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, securities, investment management, corporate counseling, financing and commercial transactions.
“Seyfarth’s team approach was a big draw for me as well as the firm’s commitment to invest and expand even more its corporate practice,” noted Iovine. “I look forward to rolling up my sleeves as we build a premier corporate practice and become trusted advisors for major corporations in both the US and abroad.”
Iovine received his BA/BS from Bucknell University, and his JD, summa cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was valedictorian.
