Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce the arrival of Lauren Fried as a partner in the firm’s Litigation department. Based in Los Angeles, Fried’s practice focuses on complex commercial disputes across a wide range of industries, with a specific emphasis on entertainment and media.
“Lauren has a great blend of technical experience and insights gained from working with organizations across industries, which will allow her to add value to our clients as they pursue their most high-profile disputes,” said Daniel Murphy, co-chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Litigation department.
Fried has represented major production companies in copyright litigation, film distribution corporations in profit participation disputes, and artists and studios in contract disputes, in addition to a variety of other complex and transformative matters at the intersection of entertainment, business and law. Recently, she was part of a team that successfully defended a client in a second-of-its-kind eminent domain litigation in California, halting the attempted takeover of a water system by the local municipality.
Fried joins Loeb & Loeb from Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, where she practiced closely with John Gatti, who joined Loeb & Loeb in February of this year.
“We are pleased to welcome Lauren to the Los Angeles office and to continue to build our deep bench of best-in-class litigators,” said Alyse Pelavin, managing partner of Loeb & Loeb’s Los Angeles office.
“Loeb & Loeb’s litigation prowess is well-known, and their reputation in the industry is unmatched,” said Fried. “I am excited to roll up my sleeves and dive in to work with this impressive team.”
Prior to her time at Manatt, Fried worked as a law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She earned a B.A. from the University of California and her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
