Norris McLaughlin, P.A. welcomes new Member Leonard A. LaBarbiera to its Real Estate & Finance group.
A resident of Hillsborough, LaBarbiera focuses his practice on real estate and finance matters, with an emphasis on affordable housing. He represents various not-for-profit and for-profit developers on all aspects of affordable housing transactions, as well as financial institutions in this area. LaBarbiera has extensive experience in dealing with tax-exempt bond financing, low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), Section 8, and other HUD issues as part of his affordable housing practice.
In addition, LaBarbiera handles commercial transactions utilizing tax-exempt lease financing structures and regularly represents developers in the construction and development of residential and commercial properties through the use of government grants, historic tax credits, and new markets tax credits. He is experienced in working with other types of bond financings, including qualified 501(c)(3) bonds and revenue bonds. He also represents various domestic and foreign banks and financial institutions in all aspects of secured and unsecured financing.
Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, LaBarbiera was Special Counsel to Windels Marx and served as Associate General Counsel at MTB Banking Corporation.
