LegalOps.com, WGCN, and LawVision Launch “Running Legal Like a Business” Conference

LegalOps.com, together with the WGCN (Women’s General Counsel Network) and LawVision, will present a pioneering conference called “Running Legal Like a Business” taking place in October 15–18, 2023 in Las Vegas. Designed for legal operations professionals, General Counsel, corporate in-house lawyers, and law firm leaders, this combination of attendees enables new opportunities for networking, professional development, and education.

“This is much more than a conference,” says Connie Brenton, co-founder of LegalOps.com. “It’s a community and a movement that will transform aspects of the corporate legal industry. By partnering with WGCN, a network of 1,600 women General Counsel, and LawVision, who work with both law firms and law departments, we have created an event focused on a comprehensive view of running legal like a business.”

“We have developed new models in the areas of legal operations management and personal effectiveness that we will share,” explains Jeff Franke, co-founder of LegalOps.com. “These new models provide tools and fresh insights to advance individuals’ careers, improve legal operations, and help corporate legal departments create competitive advantages for the businesses they serve.”

One of the new competency models focused on “Leadership and Personal Effectiveness” includes influencing and persuading, collaborating, communicating, personal brand, and other related areas. A series of pre-conference sessions on Sunday, October 15 will focus on this model, and subsequent sessions during the main conference agenda will cover specific elements of this model in greater detail.

The program includes curated, practical sessions and interactive workshops for all levels of operational maturity, as well as technology demos and a variety of networking formats.

Building upon this in-person event, LegalOps.com is also launching an online platform where Legal Operations professionals can access useful resources and connect with each other. The components of this platform are being launched in phases. A Compensation Benchmarking Portal for Legal Operations professionals is already online.

Subsequent components will include a library of resources for advancing one’s knowledge of Legal Operations and tools for evaluating both individual and team expertise. It will also provide ways to find and connect with experts across all areas of Legal Operations Management.
