The Diversity Committee of Holland & Knight LLP on Wednesday, April 11 will sponsor a reception and book signing for New York Times best-selling author Ishmael Beah.
The event will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Holland & Knight offices, 195 Broadway, 24th Floor, New York City.
Mr. Beah is the author of A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier. The book chronicles his impressment into the government army in 1991 at age 13 during a civil war in Sierra Leone on the coast of West Africa. He was rescued from forced military service in 1996 by UNICEF personnel and made his way to the United States in 1999.
