Global law firm Hogan Lovells announced today that commercial litigator Lauren Deeb has joined as a partner in the firm’s Disputes practice in the Los Angeles office. Deeb, who represents auto manufacturers and distributors in complex business disputes as well as alternate dispute resolution and mediation, joins from Nelson Mullins.
“Lauren is one of the most highly sought after commercial litigators on the West Coast, and brings valuable experience in franchise litigation and warranty-related work for our automotive clients,” said Des Hogan, Global Head of Hogan Lovells’ Disputes practice. “Lauren’s arrival builds on our growing commercial litigation offering, particularly in California, a strategic growth market for the firm. We are thrilled to have her.”
Deeb has represented automotive clients in highly specialized franchise termination protests, warranty reimbursement disputes, and other types of administrative complaints by dealers. She has also handled fiduciary duty actions, merger and acquisition litigation, trade secret misappropriation, regulatory and internal investigations, and trademark litigation. She brings experience counselling manufacturers and distributors in the domestic automotive and mobility sector, as well as advising on franchise and distribution matters worldwide.
“Lauren’s focus on highly complex contract and partnership disputes, administrative agency protests, as well as significant state and federal court experience, make her a natural addition to one of the firm’s most high-demand offerings in our Automotive and Mobility sector,” added Patrick Ayad, Leader of Hogan Lovells’ MOVE Sectors. “Her forward-thinking approach to franchising matters, both in and outside of the U.S., will greatly benefit many of our top automotive clients. We are happy to welcome her to the firm.”
Commenting on her decision to join the firm, Deeb said: “I am well familiar with the firm’s excellent reputation in the automotive litigation space, and am thrilled to be joining such a strong team.”
Partner Mike Maddigan, who serves as Office Managing Partner for the firm’s Los Angeles office, said: “Lauren is a pillar of the California legal community, and we are eager to welcome her as we expand our footprint here. California serves as one of the preeminent commercial litigation markets in the country, and Lauren has distinguished herself as a standout attorney in this competitive space. Her arrival follows those of skilled litigators Trent Norris, Megan Nishikawa, and Amber Trincado, who joined us last year as partners in San Francisco; together, this group has significantly strengthened our commercial litigation offering in the California market.”
Deeb earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and she earned her B.A. from the University of California – Santa Barbara.
