LA Bar Hosts Environmental Law Symposium

The Los Angeles County Bar Association has scheduled its Annual Environmental Law Super Symposium for Friday, April 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel, 251 South Olive Street in Los Angeles.

Keynote speaker Barry R. Wallerstein, executive officer of the South Coast AQMD, will explore recent developments in environmental law and regulation, and how the practice of environmental law is being reshaped by forces such as politics, media, and economics.

Plenary sessions will cover the following topics: The Evolving Politics and Law of Climate Change, Sustainability, and Energy; Pressing Issues: How the Media Influences Environmental Law and Policy; The Wind and Sun: When Environmentalists Converge; Environmental Law Practice 2.0; and Environmental Protection in Hard Times: The Influence of Economics and the California Fiscal Crisis.

Breakout sessions will cover water, green tech, renewable energy, and green chemistry and the shifting chemical regulatory paradigm.
