Husch Blackwell announced the arrival of partner Kyle Russell, who joins the Kansas City office, as a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment and Higher Education practices. He joins from Jackson Lewis where he was a principal.
Russell focuses his practice on representing employers in administrative charges and lawsuits involving a wide variety of statutory and common law claims. He has also defended wage and hour collective and class actions and has extensive experience prosecuting violations of restrictive covenant agreements by former employees.
“Kyle’s experience and track record in labor & employment matters is the perfect fit for our clients seeking labor & employment counseling and litigation representation across the Midwest,” said Erik Eisenmann, partner and leader of Husch Blackwell’s Labor & Employment practice. “His arrival allows us to better serve our clients, and we’re thrilled to have him join Husch Blackwell.”
In addition to serving traditional labor & employment clients, Russell will work with the firm’s Higher Education practice to provide labor & employment counseling for colleges and universities across the Midwest. While at Jackson Lewis, he advised and trained clients on a wide variety of employment law issues, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, social media, wage and hour compliance, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family & Medical Leave Act. Russell has also advised employers with respect to the implementation of nationwide arbitration agreement programs.
“Husch Blackwell is known to have a phenomenal labor & employment group, as well as one of the most well-respected higher education practices nationally,” Russell said. “I’m excited to join the team and look forward to providing my labor & employment expertise to a broad range of clients.”
